MICAT Admission Test (MICAT) is conducted to select candidates for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management–Communications (PGDM-C) programme offered by MICAT, Ahmedabad. Candidates who are planning to appear for MICAT must familiarize themselves with the MICAT selection procedure. For MICAT 2024 aspirants, it is mandatory to appear for CAT/ XAT/ GMAT exam.
MICAT is conducted twice, and candidates can appear for either of two. MICAT-I is likely to be held in the first week of December 2024 and MICAT-II is likely to be held in the second week of February 2024. Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of MICAT 2024 scores will have to appear for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). In the last stage of MICAT selection procedure in 2024, a final merit list will be prepared. Candidates whose names feature in this list will be offered admissions in admission in the PGDM-C programme. There are three stages in the MICAT selection procedure 2024, which have been mentioned below
In first stage, candidates need to appear for CAT/ XAT/ GMAT exam. Candidates must have a valid score in CAT 2024/ XAT 2024 or GMAT 2024 exam.
In second stage, candidates need to appear for MICAT 2024 exam. This exam is divided into three parts – a) Psychometric Test (a qualifier test), b) Verbal Ability (VA), Quantitative Ability (QA), General Awareness (GA) and Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR), c) Descriptive Test. Only the candidates who qualify Psychometric Test will be evaluated on the other two parts.
In the third stage of MICAT selection procedure 2024, candidates are required to appear for GE & PI rounds. MICAT scores are taken into consideration for shortlisting candidates for GE & PI.
After the completion of the above-mentioned three stages, a final merit list will be released. This list will contain the names of the candidates who will be offered admissions in PGDM-C programme.
While preparing the final merit list, there are several components that will be taken into consideration. Specific weightage (in per cent) is assigned to each of these components. In the table given below, candidates can check the weightage given to different components.
