Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Ahmedabad was established in August 1994, with an objective of imparting higher education in various fields of engineering and technology. This institute is recognized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Institute of Engineers (India). The college is administrated by Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University. VGEC shifted to its own campus at Chandkheda, Ahmedabad in the year 2004.

Campus Facilities: The infrastructure of this college is very good and big. There are many types of blocks here. There are many halls like library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, etc. Here on campus, the canteen, port security, many facilities are very good, but there is no transportation available. It is a good experience for students. College is very nice and faculty is also supportive and campus is good as compared to other government engineering colleges. You will enjoy and learn at the same time here.

Campus Life: This college campus is very good. Here, everyone lives together and gather together to celebrate various events and functions. There are many clubs for students, and we have a good experience in them. Many events are held in this college and many festivals are also celebrated. I have had the best and most wonderful experience in this college. This college has 100% placement and it is also a good place to stay for students. I loved this College. Best Government Engineering college in Gujarat. The faculties are good and even the infrastructure is also good. All facilities are here like girls & boys hostel, good washrooms, sitting place, etc. Environment of college is very good. There is greenery in huge amount. Though this college is located near main road, it is very quiet and calm. Some faculty members are good some are not. Students should maintain attendance in class as per college rules. It's a government college and the examination is conducted by government. Compared to private colleges in which for other activities like classes you can go easily and there is no attendance problem but here you have to mention why you want a leave and also leave affects your 20 % marks if the reason isn’t valid. Students feel that we are now in college and we have to study less and all but you have to be ready with pen paper and colored pages. You have to compete with state toppers, national level toppers and international level students who get admission through GUJCET, JEE main entrance exam. Fee structure is nominal and hostel fee is also nominal. The facilities provided in the premises include library, gym facility, 3 canteen, 3 hostel, etc. The hostel room are equipped with fan, lights, AC, etc. The benches are in good condition and maintained. Main thing about the college is that it is accredited by NBA so admission is worth it. Examination are different from deemed (private University).

Faculty: The faculty in power electronics is very good and experienced. The faculty members in this department are very supportive. The professors in this college provide study in many ways like blackboard, PPT and group discussions. If there is any question, Fecal definitely brings the solution. There is a good relationship between students and teachers. I love this place because their atmosphere is cool. No noise pollution, No traffic pollution. Excellent study, Faculty and Students.

Placements: In this college, 80 percent of the placements are done on the college campus. Famous companies like Adani, Reliance, TATA come here for placements on the campus. The highest package in the Power Electronics Department is Rs 5 lakh and the minimum package is Rs 3.5 lakh. The placement of the students is 100 percent.

Start Up Incubator: This college is very good for studies. In this college life, we have grown a lot and we feel that we can do better in life. I had applied for admission in many colleges but I took admission in this college as the infrastructure of this college, the study here, the faculty and the placement were very good. Attending VGEC for my BE (ECE) was an incredible journey filled with growth and learning. The faculty members at VGEC are exceptional, always ready to guide and support their students. I am grateful for the valuable education and the memorable experiences I had during my time here. VGEC provided me with a nurturing environment where I could thrive academically and personally. A decent place to study Engineering with extracurricular activities like National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS).
