GATE 2025 registration closes today

GATE 2025: The registration for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 ends today, September 26. The candidates yet to register and interested in appearing for the test can fill out the form online at the official website – gate2025.iitr.ac.in

This year, GATE will be organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and is set to be conducted in computer-based testing (CBT) mode in February 2025. Registrations for GATE 2025 started on August 28.

GATE 2025 will have a total of 30 test papers comprising full papers and sectional papers. The registration fee for the females, SC, ST and PwD candidates is Rs. 900 and for all other candidates including foreign nationals is Rs 1,800.

If a candidate fails to fill out the GATE 2025 application form by tomorrow, they can submit it until October 7 with the payment of a late fee. 

GATE 2025: Application steps

– Visit to the official website 

– Click on APPLY NOW from applications menu

– Fill the personal details, papers you want to appear for, postal address and cities for examination, qualification degree details

– Upload the scanned copy of your photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable) and PwD certificate (if applicable)

– Fill the details of valid government id and bank details

– Complete the payment process

– Print the GATE 2025 application form and check the application status to be complete

The photo on your GATE 2025 admit card and scorecard will be the same as you upload during your application form. 

Specifications for Photograph and Signature

– The photograph should be passport size (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm), clear, colour photo in JPEG/JPG format.

– The background should be white, with no objects or people in the background.

– It should have the frontal face view, looking directly at the camera. The facial features like forehead, eyes, nose, and chin must be clearly visible.

– No hats, caps, sunglasses, or coloured glasses. Regular eyeglasses for vision correction are okay, but there should be no glare on the lenses. If glare can’t be avoided, remove your glasses for the photo.

– The image resolution should be between 200 x 260 pixels and 530 x 690 pixels.

– The file size for the candidate’s photo should be between 5 KB and 1 MB.

– The face must be clear and not covered by anything like clothing or shadows.

– No head coverings unless for religious reasons is allowed. Even then, your facial features from chin to forehead and both sides of your face must be shown clearly.

Make sure your photo meets these requirements to avoid application rejection.

– The signature should be done with black or dark blue ink, JPEG/JPG format.

– The aspect ratio for signatures from height to width should be between 1:2.75 and 1:3.75.

– Signature must cover 70-80% of the image after cropping.

– The file size should be between 3 KB and 1 MB.

– The picture resolution must be between 250 x 80 pixels and 580 x 180 pixels.

– It should be signed by the candidate only, not someone else.

– The signature of the candidate should match to the one uploaded on the exam day. 

– Any mismatch with the signature at the time of the examination, can lead to disqualification.

The IIT Roorkee may also announce the date for the editing of GATE 2025 application form soon. The admit card for GATE 2025 is most likely to be released in January and the exam will be conducted on February 1, 2, 15 and 16, of 2025.
