Established in 1965 under the Dibrugarh University Act enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly, Dibrugarh University is the easternmost university in India. Renowned for its research and innovation, the university serves as a nexus for shaping the socio-cultural landscape of North East India. It boasts a sprawling 550-acre campus set amidst serene and pastoral surroundings.

Dibrugarh University offers a wide range of infrastructure facilities for its students and staff. Some of the key facilities include:

Conference Hall- The University boasts several Conference Halls for hosting Seminars, Symposia, and Workshops. Notable among these are the Indira Miri Conference Hall, Bhojraj Seth Conference Hall, Chintan, Vikshan, Aniruddha Dev Bhavan Conference Hall, and Pushpalata Das Conference Hall.

Hostel- The University currently offers hostel accommodations to deserving meritorious students. With 16 hostels featuring limited seating, hostel seats are allocated strictly based on merit and a first-come, first-served basis. Seat reservations for S.C. and S.T. candidates follow the University's regulations.

Auditorium- 'Rangghar', the main auditorium of the University, is a significant campus facility, equipped with advanced lighting and acoustic systems. Cultural programs and other University events are regularly held at Rangghar.

Health Centre- The Dibrugarh University Health Centre, established in 1971, started with a full-time Pharmacist and visiting Physicians from the Assam Medical College and Hospital. Currently, it employs 18 staff members. The demand for a more sophisticated Health Centre led to the construction of a two-story building in April 2008, and by March 2009, the Health Centre had moved to this new building, which includes 20 beds, a Minor Operation Theater with an attached sterilization room, and a Laboratory.

Guest House- The Dibrugarh University Guest House, set against the scenic backdrop of verdant tea gardens, comprises two wings: The New Wing and the Old Wing. The New Wing houses 13 Standard Rooms, 16 Deluxe Rooms, and 6 Suites, while the Old Wing offers 6 Regular Rooms and 5 Budget Rooms, all maintained to ensure a comfortable stay for guests.

Day Care Centre- The Day Care Centre at Dibrugarh University was inaugurated on 2nd September 2008. As a vital component of the UGC system, the Centre was established to support working parents employed at the University.
