Founded in 1857, the Sir JJ School of Art is a forerunner in the fields of Art, Architecture, and Design education in India. It was named in honor of Sir Jamshedjee Jeejeebhoy, the first Baronet of India, who contributed a generous donation of 100,000 Rupees for its inception. Spanning nine acres, the campus is recognized by the Indian government as a heritage site.
The institution offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in disciplines such as Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Textile Design, and Interior Decoration. It also provides Bachelor's programs in Design (B.Des) and Architecture (B.Arch). For postgraduate studies, it offers a Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Master of Design (M.Des), and Master of Architecture (M.Arch), along with various diploma courses at its Mumbai location.
The campus, with its historic buildings and verdant surroundings, fosters an environment ripe for creativity and artistic exploration.
