Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar (A Central University), formerly the University of Sagar, was established on 18th July 1946 by Dr. Sir Hari Singh Gour. This is the largest and oldest university in Madhya Pradesh and the eighteenth university in all of India.
Dr. Harisingh Gour University is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by the NAAC.
More than thirty undergraduate, graduate, certificate, diploma, and doctorate programs in the humanities, science and technology, business management, journalism and mass communication, education, and other subjects are available at Dr. Hari Singh Gour University. DHSGV bases admission to its UG and PG programs on the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which is administered by the NTA.

Library- The DHSGV library is home to about 3.8 lac volumes, bound journals, and 158 print journals in addition to a sizable collection of reference books and rare manuscripts. Bank facility- Two Nationalized bank branches are located on the university's campus. State Bank of India and Central Bank of India were two of the banks that provided a wide range of services to university employees and students.
